As our community grows, so do our schools
Our sub-committees, including the Demographic team in the Resources Department, monitor and analyse local area demographics and population forecasts for the acquisition of land for future school sites, prioritisation of new schools, rebuilds and renovations to existing schools, as well as the creation of additional enrolment places to accommodate increased demand.
An Inclusive Education for All
Our planning committees monitor and analyse local area demographics and population forecasts for the acquisition of land for future school sites and prioritisation of new schools.
In the past 15 years there have been:
- 4 new primary schools
- 1 new secondary school
- 3 new CARE schools
- 4 new composite (Kindergarten to Year 12) schools
- 1 new Early Learning and Care Centre
With infill and new residential developments, suburbs go through periods of regrowth which can require additional student places at existing schools to accommodate the increased demand. These decisions are taken at a strategic level and Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia monitors enrolment trends in all areas, looks for patterns and works in consultation with all schools within growth areas to devise the best plan to accommodate students.
We predict further sustained growth in the Greater Perth region and are continually monitoring growth throughout the whole of Western Australia.
