Support is provided by the Psychology, Safety and Wellbeing Team to CEWA schools in areas relating to attendance, behaviour, child safety, mental health and wellbeing, learning difficulties and crisis response.
The Team works directly with students, particularly in regard to assessing student needs and recommending interventions. The Psychology, Safety and Wellbeing Team also supports schools through:
- Serious incident and crisis response support
- Capacity building of staff through centralised and school-based professional learning
- Assisting with the development and implementation of whole school systems, policies, processes and programs
- Consultation with the Principal, school leadership, school employed mental health practitioners and educators
- Coaching with school leadership teams to drive change in pastoral care and wellbeing
- Building communities of practice between those working in Catholic Education WA in pastoral care and wellbeing
- Creating and providing resources
