Our School
Chisholm Catholic College is a co‐educational Year 7 to 12 secondary College located in the suburb of Bedford, in Perth. It caters for students from the surrounding metropolitan area with approximately 1700 students enrolled. It was established in 1989 as a result of the amalgamation of two local Catholic secondary schools, St Thomas Aquinas and St Mark’s.
The College vision “In Service of Christ and Community, We Seek Excellence” encompasses our Mission to promote the formation of the whole person to be an instrument of Christ in this modern world. The College Values of Character, Learning and Compassion are reflected in the College motto to “Grow in Christ.”
A very comprehensive curriculum programme and differentiated learning structures cater for a range of students, with the primary aim of providing the best secondary education in a high quality teaching and learning environment to meet the needs of students of all abilities.
Students participate in a variety of co-curricular programmes to explore their interests and develop their talents and skills in all areas. These include interschool sport, the performing and creative arts, debating, mock trials, a variety of academic competitions and study tours and significant cultural programs. Chisholm’s Gifted and Talented programme, Stellatus, is offered to selected students in Years 7-9.
A range of pathways are offered at Chisholm, including preparation for university, technical and further education, vocational and education training certificate qualifications and on-the-job (work placement) training programme.
Chisholm enjoys a strong reputation as a Catholic school of choice throughout our regional community. It consistently achieves high academic results and outcomes with a strong value – added element to the excellent educational programme. Parents often express a high degree of satisfaction with the College’s academic culture, its excellent pastoral care, the wealth of opportunities on offer and the excellent overall value for money in what is a well-resourced school.
