Our Lady of Good Counsel School

Our Lady of Good Counsel School is a single stream Catholic Primary School comprised of students from Kindergarten through to Year 6. A Three Year Old Program is also on site along with a before and after school care program. At Our Lady of Good Counsel School we cherish each child as a special miracle and strive to create an environment which enables them to experience the joy and wonder of our world. Staff create a welcoming environment where all children and families are respected and actively encouraged to contribute. We acknowledge parents as the first and most significant educators of their children and recognise the unique contribution made by parents to the life of the school and to the learning of the children. Parents are encouraged to participate in the life of the school through the School Board, Parents and Friends’ Association and active involvement in classes. We endeavor to provide a high quality educational program that creates a natural learning context for learners that captures their interests, absorbs their attention and allows for the expression of personality and uniqueness. The school has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy and provides support and extension programs. As part of an integrated curriculum, children are involved in the specialist areas of Physical Education, Japanese, Library Skills and Music. Information technology is integrated into all learning areas across the school. Years 4-6 students have a 1:1 Device Program which develops skills, knowledge and confidence necessary for them to flourish and become active and contributing citizens of the 21st Century.
